Ursuit® Drysuit Fabric Materials

Ursuit performance begins with meticulously selected materials. We use advanced technical fabrics that offer complete protection against water and wind without compromising breathability or freedom of movement. Below, you will find detailed information on the fabrics we use, along with their specific properties such as weight and durability.

Immersion Suit Fabrics

Ursuit® immersion suits are manufactured from waterproof and breathable technical fabrics. The material’s performance is based on a laminated microporous membrane: large water droplets cannot pass through the membrane’s microscopic pores, while smaller water vapor molecules are able to escape. This prevents external water from entering the suit while allowing moisture to evaporate outward, keeping the user dry and comfortable even during active use.

All Ursuit® fabrics offer top-level waterproof performance. The differences between fabrics relate to weight, breathability, and durability. Comparative ratings for these properties are presented below.

In general, a lighter fabric and garment provide better breathability, increasing wearing comfort and reducing heat buildup. For professional and heavy-duty use, we recommend more durable fabric options that offer superior durability in demanding conditions.

In addition to high-quality fabrics, the complete waterproof integrity of Ursuit® immersion suits is ensured by fully taped seams, waterproof zippers, and watertight seal solutions.

Diving Suit Fabrics

Ursuit® diving suits are manufactured from two different types of waterproof fabrics. The breathable 4-Tex Dive material is structurally similar to the waterproof and breathable technical fabrics used in immersion suits. Softdura, Cordura, and Trilaminate fabrics are three-layer constructions with a butyl rubber middle layer that provides waterproofness.

As with immersion suits, diving suit materials are rated for lightness, breathability, and durability. Based on these properties, users can select the most suitable material according to their intended use and operational requirements.
