Maintenance instructions

The lifespan of your diving and rescue suit is significantly extended when you maintain it regularly and store it correctly.

You can repair small holes yourself using the patches provided with the suit. Repairs for larger leaks, as well as replacements of seals (cuffs), boots, and zippers, should always be performed by a professional.

We recommend a leak test for drysuits at least once a year.

Warranty

  • New drysuits have a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase regarding manufacturing and material defects. (The warranty does not cover holes or tears resulting from use.)

  • Service work performed has a 1-year warranty. (Does not apply to suits from other manufacturers.)

How to extend the lifespan of your suit

Drysuit maintenance begins immediately after the dive. Proper handling at this stage determines the durability of the suit.

After the dive

  • Rinse the suit with fresh water, especially if you have been diving in saltwater.

  • Carefully remove sand and dirt.

  • Close the zipper and rinse it several times.

  • Check that no sand is left in the valves.

Drying

  • Ensure the suit is completely dry inside and out before storage.

  • Do not dry the suit in direct sunlight.

  • Do not dry the suit in a sauna.

  • Do not dry the suit in a space that is too hot or humid.

Storage

  • Always store the suit with the zipper open.

  • Store the suit in its own bag or on a wide hanger in a dry space.

Zipper maintenance

Metal zipper:

  • Lubricate the zipper after each use with paraffin.

  • Open and close the zipper a few times after lubrication.

  • Carefully trim away any loose fabric threads.

Plastic zipper:

  • Lubricate only the docking end (slider garage).

  • Use silicone-free grease.

Seals (cuffs)

  • Add talcum powder to latex neck and wrist seals.

  • Use unscented talcum powder.

Other things to note

  • Ensure the zipper is completely open when putting on or taking off the suit.

  • Open the crotch strap and loosen the suspenders before taking off the suit.

  • Handle neoprene seals with care.

Before sending the suit for service

1. Book a service inspection

Book a time on the "Book Maintenance" page before sending the suit. Note: The booked time is for the inspection, not yet the actual repair time. During the inspection, we determine the maintenance needs and will contact you if necessary before the repair.

2. All suits are tested

All drysuits arriving for service undergo a leak test and a visual inspection. This is the only way we can ensure the operational reliability of the suit. (Unless otherwise agreed in advance.

If the repair is not economically viable, we will inform you before proceeding. Otherwise, we will repair the suit according to the agreed instructions.

3. The suit must be clean and dry

Before sending:

  • Remove all mud, sand, and dirt.

  • Ensure the suit is completely dry inside and out.

Occupational safety is of utmost importance to us. We do not handle contaminated or dirty suits. If a suit arrives dirty:

  • We will return it untreated, or

  • We will charge a separate cleaning fee.

4. Packaging

  • Empty all pockets.

  • Pack the suit in its own storage bag.

  • Use a shipping container that is spacious enough so that the zipper and other parts are not damaged.

The suit must be dry before packaging.

We reserve the right to decline servicing a suit if repairs have been made to it that are contrary to Ursuit's instructions and prevent maintenance.
